Hi
Has anyone used the Keyfax range of midi disks, i think you can use them to build up tracks on your computer in a cut and paste method, i beleive the are also called twiddly bits and are available in different styles. E.G country, rock, latin etc

I haven't used TB altho I've been tempted to purchase the discs. The September issue of Electronic Musician features a review of TB and other virtual drummers, including Discrete Drums and Drumtrax. I too, would be interested in hearing from anyone who has used any of these programs.

Hi
Must admit l've spent most of my spare time looking for drum loops to use with some of my country songs. I've scanned the internet from front to back trying to find this style of loops, i'm really only after some 8 beat style drums with breaks and pushes to record some judds style material(not everyones cup of tea)but can i find anything along these lines, i don't need samples of people banging on drain pipes and things like that. Big fish audio do some disks along these lines i think "performance drums 2" could be a possible one, and i think acid do a country disk, anyone used any of these or got any other ideas? Might end up using the sd1 drums and converting them to wav files and rearanging them on computer. A bit new to this sort of thing but any advice would be appreciated.
Best Regards

I got the twiddly bits drum loops. They're great. They're not all-encompassing, and it can take a while to find the right loop, which can inhibit creativity. But they are very professionally done.

I agree that Twiddley Bits stuff offers some very high quality loops. AS you might already guess, I particularly like the Jazz: piano, bass & drums disk: http://www.keyfax.com/keyfax/prdct.html

On that note, it's interesting to point out that Julian Cobeck (founder & head of Keyfax software) wrote a review of the Yamaha 9000pro in the May 02 issue of 'Electronic Musician' which stirred up a bit of controvery here with his acrid statements about arrangers & arranger keyboard players: Check out this thread: http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/003526.html
