I have a SCSI equipped W30 and CD ROM discs full of W30 samples. I need a suitable CD ROM drive or a utility that will allow me to transfer the samples onto ZIP or Syquest.

I have an old CD-Rom drive that I used with my S-760, until I got a faster drive. I don't remember if it is a 1x or 2x, but it might work well for your purposes, as you don't need to have a really fast drive to load the small amount of internal memory. Also, since you don't plan on using the drive after you load the sounds onto a zip or syquest drive. It might be just what you need, but I am not sure what your requirements are.
