Hey,
Anyone currently having a Motif??? Is it easy to use? What can you do with it???
Is it "just" a sequencer with great sounds and a keyboard? So to make a song, we should create each track separetly (drums, bass,...)? And so, do you need a lot of "musical-knowledge" to play and enjoy the board??? It is very difficult for me to really understand the things you can do with that kind of board. I read everywhere that that boards let you do "virtually anything". My fear: having it and not being able to do anything with it.....
An arranger kb seems easyer to use since you just put the chords and do watherever you want! (soloing,... )
what do you think about it??? I was always thinking that a synt was used to 'create" sound. Does that mean that if I don't wanna create sound, I have nothing to do with a synth??? Seriously, choosing a board is so confusing....

friendly,

Merlin

Hello Merlin,
The Motif is a nice keyboard for under $1800.00 . Yes it sequences ....track by track 16 total . Sequencer not to hard to use . Yes you can create music . It is not an arranger keyboard . You may want to wait for the PSR2000 to hit and than try the Motif to make a fair comparison . Dano @ guitarcenter ......Towson maryland oneils4@home.com

I have looked at motif and I think I like it very much. The sounds are very beautiful with only one exception: the grand piano sound.

Again, this keyboard is not an arranger keyboard. So is that what you are looking for?

Actually I'm looking for different things: a board for the scene (I play in a band), so no need of arranger, just need great sounds, 88 keys and a good feeling! But buying a motif just for its sound wouldn't be a good idea I guess!!!! I don't know much about synth, so if you can tell me what it can offer... (other than sounds and sequencer! but I guess that those are the main features....)The arranger would be for home, more for toying... Can't help it, I love toying, specially in music!!
So I was thinking about the psr9k, for home + scene. I really don't know what to do! 'cause as I sais before, the psr 9k is the price of the motif+psr 2k.... May be I will post a main topic about it, to see what you all think about it!
