I had to get a newspaper column out before 9 p.m. and I didn't get home till after 7, so I didn't have much to spend in the chat room tonight. More to come on this, though, and I'll post some photos in the next few days.

Joe Water has gratiously posted photos of the inside of the PSR-3000, which clearly shows where a 2.5-inch hard drive can be mounted. You can find the photos at http://psrtutorial.com/FloppyInside.html For me, I don't believe I need a hard drive in my 3000, mainly because I have yet to fill 25 percent of my 128-meg USB thumb drive. Good Luck, Gary

No, It's pretty straight forward. The hard drive would be positioned on the posts the same as the floppy drive was in the 2000, the USB connection would then be via a USB 2-port hub, which is available for prices under $10. This would be hard-wired to the USB connector. That's pretty much all there is to it. Nearly all of the hardware is available from www.cyberguys.com , incluidng the monting at Drive Rails and hard drive mounting kit. For me, I don't see the need for an internal hard drive. I have yet to fill a 256 meg thumb drive and there is still lots of room on my Smart Media Card. It is my fondest hope that the next generation Yamaha PSR arranger keyboards will be equipped with Flash Media, which would replace the now obsolete Smart Media. This would allow huge amounts of storage in a device that is far more durable, and the price of flash media is rapidly dropping. Good Luck, Gary
