Yup, it is good...
...for a couple of things...
It is SO easy to use, and once
you've learned how to, you can
simply think of a sound, and
then make the jp8000 sound like
that... it comes so natural. It
isn't the best _synth_ around,
but maybe the best instrument
to play.
Things on it that SUCK includes:
it only has one (stereo) out !
This would be ok if it had
a multieffect onboard, but it
doesn't! (however, the jp8080-
module does... check it out)
Also, the MIDI control is quite
clumsy. Sometimes you just cant
control one of the parts from
a sequencer and play live on the
other part!
You cant reprogram the arpeggiator!
This is the absolutely suckiest
thing about it!
You cant chose which part to use
the arpeggiator on (suxx!) .
Over all, its the standard Roland
offs: ok so you have 100 of this
and 100 of that BUT, if you use
this effect you cant use that osc-
form, and if you set the pan you
cant use the lfo right, and if you
do this you cant do that, at least
not in every way, and if... and so on...
Oh, another thing: if you wnat REALLY
fat sound and set the jp8000 up in the
dual mode (play boths part sim.) you
can only use 2 notes poly or the sound
will **** up when you change chords !
But it is wonderful to play...
