Good Job Mike. Thanks for the info. I'm interested in it. It looks like there are a lot of new features, and I think maybe I'll prefer this over Jammer pro now, especially since I'm not all that fond of Jammer's latest release

I use BIAB v12c almost daily. It will be interested to see if the new 32 bit interface in the new 2004 version makes an improvement.
Perhaps anyone having the new version can give an update.

I've been a BIAB user for some time. Between it and it's sister sequencer program, PowerTracks, you can do anything easily and well. Support is fantistic... 800# and a live person! I've been checking out the new version online... Digitech harmonizer, pitch correction, and more. I'll be getting the upgrade for sure. Go to PG Music's home page:

How would I use BIAB with my Ketron X-1. The web site says you can use it to create styles. My understanding of it is, you use it to create MIDI files. It would be great if it created style files for arranger keyboards. Could someone please explain how you use BIAB? Thanks

BIAB has its own styles in its own proprietary format. BIAB styles are more sophisticated than arranger styles in several respects. BIAB uses these to generate songs. AFAIK, they cannot be used in real time. AFAIK, there is no BIAB-arranger conversion utility. I bet of lot of us would be interested in a real-time interactive BIAB, with its newly added vocal harmony and plug-in support.

You're right, BIAB makes MIDI and/or audio sequences. It allows you to create a very good SMF within minutes. Type in chords, select a style (100s to select from), and you have a 3-5 voice/track song. You can also add audio tracks, render to a stereo wav file, and burn a CD, all within the program.

The newest version provides a 32 bit program, unlimited tracks, DXi instrument support, notation display, *built-in* audio vocal harmonizer, plus much more.

Another new feature which sounds cool... you can load any MIDI file into BIAB and it will play with the chords displayed on-screen. You can then change the style of the MIDI file to any BIAB style. Cool, because the way I see it, you could put in a poor or mediocre SMF and have a major improvement (live MIDI guitar and drums on many styles).

You can download a demo from their home page, plus they offer a 30 return. I don't have any financial interest in BIAB of PG Music, but as you can tell, I really like the program along with PowerTracks Pro.

Hi Tom,
I don't know what style creation features the Ketron has, but on the kn7 I have a sequencer to style function ie I create a midifile of a style in BIAB , load it into the KN7 sequencer, then create a kn style from it.
The VA7 has a similar function. For PSR's there are software programs availble EMC style convert also has a midifile to style function.
