have any of the PA800 owners tried editing or creating styles on their PA's.
The number of editing functions are amazing.
I revamped the onboard Beguine style by replacing Intro/Ending 1 with a psr intro.
Also replaced the guitar & bass tracks also done via pc sequencer & midi (smf) to style function.

Korg Pa800 besides all the other great features......your really getting a grip on things for sure....so much to learn so little time

the funny thing is that these are exactly the same features that exist on the PA1X and its like they have only just been discovered. The Pa1x is still great value for money especially compared to the cost of a new PA800

It is very true that the PA1X is one of the great boards, and because a newer model comes out doesn't diminish it.

Isn't it funny how what we have is fine until something new comes out and we have to buy it. I just love my PA800, and still marvel at the features when I still have my KN7000 that is a great KB also.

I guess I think I owe it to myself to have the newest features, eventhough I know it is going to mean paying premium dollars for it.

Wouldnt it be even better though Bernie if we fully explored the features of the instrument we already have ? When you buy a "new "keyboard you are actually paying in a lot of cases 70 % of the value of your old machine (if you sell it ) for up to 70% of the features you had in your old keyboard and perhaps 30% " new " features. i have yet to hear a new machine make anyone play even 30% better ......

no doubt.
I think maybe some of us haven't owned a korg before or at least not a recent model.
My last korg goes back close to 15 years ago , the i2.
It's just great discovering all the great stuff korgs can do that my other 2 keyboards can't.

I have the PA1X and trust me, just when you think you have squeezed all the juice from this machine you discover something new that inspires you all over again. I just found an old sample disk of drum grooves from when i bought my yammy psr8000. That instrument had a sampler on it but you could not time slice the loops. You could onlly make minor edits. I found the disk a couple of nights ago and have started to sample them through the PA1X and slice up the loops. Oh my goodness !!

no , not at all.

I came from a predominately Technics background, though I've also had other brands along the way.

It didn't make sense to me to keep putting a lot more time & effort into my KN7000 once Technics stopped manufacturing.
Tried Yamaha & Ketron, but both lacked functions I'd been used to in my Technics keyboards over the years.
The korg PA800's been the best substitute for me to date, plus it has functions the Technics never did, including time slice.

Actually discovered an interesting source for audio drum loops in the form of Band in a Box 2007 Real Drums ( audio drum loops ).
They were part of my BIAB2007 megapak upgrade.
I purchased a Drums on Demand Disk for my Ketron a couple of years ago, but they work out so expensive.

The time slicing is a very interesting function.
