Okay everyone, I recently got an Octapad II (Pad 80) off of Ebay for about $163. Pretty good huh? The guy told me that pad three had to be smacked really hard. he didn't mention the same for pads 4 and 6 however.
What do I do? I don't have the manual. I messed around with the [SENSITIVITY] parameter. It does a great job with the response of some pads, but with pads 3,4 and 6, I get some good response, but not when I hit those pads (3,4,6) softly.

My question, is this due to years of use? I know that the Octapad II is at least 12.

My SECOND question is about the external trigger units. How do I set these up relative to the internal system? I can't seem to access them on any menus. I went out to buy two sustain pedals to use them as triggers (These should trigger the sound without the velocity that a kick trigger could give you), how can I set this up?

Please giv me an answer or some feedback. If I can't solve the problem within a week, I'm going to resell it locally for $375. Thanks.

The Infamous EPU.

Hi EPU,

Don't have any answers, but you'd probably get an answer quickly if you ask on the VDrums.com discussion board (in the 'technical' forum).

Lots of users of the SPD over there, as well as guys with DITY experience for repairs (usually pretty easy stuff with these units).

Regards,
Chris
