Been using the little Roland CM-30 as a monitor, and, for small state dinner parties, as a pa. Just got a 2nd one. Especially this time of year, I go from one job to another, and use two different set-ups. Tomorrow, I'll use one in each of two locations. Then, after the first of the year, I'll try them in stereo. Prior to getting the first one, I used a small 200 watt head, one 12" cabinet and a Hot spot. Now, with the CM-30, I can use two cabinets, the CM-30 as a monitor, and have more control of the monitor output.

Cool little amps!

Russ........congrats on the Roland CM30's..

They have been a godsend for me on many of my small gigs also.....I'm lovin these lil' babies big time for their sound & versatility, size/weight & ability to get the job done admirably in small situations for sure without lugging in my big speakers which are needed on the larger venues I perform at.

Enjoy!!

They certainly stand up to the hype. Two Cm-30's are very versatile. Again, for their size and price they are a good deal. I'm pretty sure most everyone on the SZ knows their strengths and weaknesses by now. I haven't heard of anyone yet who hasn't liked them once they've tried them.

I went to the music store and tried them there, with a sequence. I was disappointed. Didn't hear much bottom at all. In all fairness, I only listened for a couple minutes and didn't try it with an arranger.
Maybe after the holidays I'll try 'em again.

Don, don't expect too much bottom. The sound of the CM-30's are, IMHO, more a full sound that gives a hint of bottom, but not a lot of bass. Since I tried mine with my EV Sb120a, I'm always tempted to use the sub with them. If you are looking for a sound with a lot of bottom, this won't be it. But if you can live with a good, full sound I think the CM-30's do a good job.

My CM-30's handled 3 hours of SMF at full tilt. Of course, again, that was with the aid of a sub. But the last few songs of the evening were without the sub and overall sound was very close, maybe not as penetrating.

I'm not trying to be the poster boy for the CM-30's. I just have a pair and like them a lot. I think they do a good job in the situations I use them.

Don.....
if you want alot of low end add a sub like the Roland KW1 to two CM30's.....but then you'd defeat the purpose, otherwise keep in mind they are for SMALL JOB applications/monitors etc ... where you dont need booming bass !

Hey Donny, maybe we should set up a drive-thru franchise so all these people can just come and pick up their CM-30's from US. After all, we seem to be selling them all by ourselves.

hahahahah Cass.....

if people would just not try to make them more then what they are everything would be fine. heeck for a piece of gear that has a $175.00 investment that makes thousands seems to me to be a good investment in my book

Tried them with the PSR-3000, and IMO they didn't hold a candle to the Logitech Z-5500 system. Lots of mid, no bottom end, faint highs. Not for me, even on the small jobs.

Amazing of to hear the night & day opinions of the CM30's, I used them 2x today with excellent results...........as always I let my ears be my guide. I disliked the Logtec units that boomy bass with no mids really sounded terrible & all those thin gage wires, plus a remote to deal with, lack of inputs also.....just not for me. IMO...I dumped them quick. Lets face it its a PC speaker system.
Enjoy what you choose
