Need some help.
When recording on my S900 – using the registration buttons to control the key changes it does not play the change after recording even though I can hear the key change when I am recording.

Help please, John C.

John...
Its not broken. That is a little quirk of the Yammies. After you record, reset the key with the transpose button and save it to a registration.

Just calling up a midi you recorded does not put it in the key it was played, but rather whatever the previous song was transposed to.

Pretty dumb, IMO (not you, the S900!)...

OK, try this (you ARE talking about the MIDI sequencer, NOT the audio recorder, I'll assume!)... After you've recorded the sequence, go to the bar that you made the key change in, and Transpose the sequence from that point onward. Bit of a kluge, but unless an S900 owner can tell you if there is a parameter you can change that will have the same effect, it will work (although what a Global transpose does to the Mega Voice data is anyone's guess...)

btweengigs, if he transposes DURING a recording (for a key change), what happens then? (This is what I assumed he was talking about).

Diki and btweengigs,
The keyboard is not recording the event. (Sequence) (Transpose)

I start in the key of C – after 36 measures I press a registration which has memorized a key change of Eb, 3 half-tones higher. As I record I press the registration to change keys – I hear the key change as I am recording (Sequencing) but when played back the keyboard has not memorized the key change.

Is there any way to record the key change in the song (sequence) other than editing after the song has been recorded?

John C.

Hit DIRECT ACCESS then the left transpose button.

Set the TRANSPOSE ASSIGN to KEYBOARD.

Sorry, misunderstood the question. For playback of a MIDI file which is transposed within the song, Ian has it right

Eddie, I have no idea what DNJ is talking about, I didn't hear you say Midi file.

Ian, Thank you so much, it's so easy when you know.
