thanks for the idea of Sdisk for making a CD of S760 samples .. only one problem... the Syquest cartridges are 250Mb each... and even if I get Sdisk to read them....how do I format a CD in Roland format..???

sdisk will only work with floppys. it makes an image of the entire floppy blank space and everything else. i dont think it does any thing special as far as being roland compatable. it just makes and image of the floppy. perhaps you could use another disk imageing program one that can handle larger sizes. i have used PowerQuest to back up my C:\drive. i dont have a link for it but im thinking something like it would work for makeing the cds but it would limit your cd to being a copy of the cartrage ; only the 250 mg and 500 mg of unused space per cd. im getting that mad scientest feeling again muhahahahahaha

arn't you useing a cd/rw with your 760? how did you format the syquest cartridges?

CDs don't quirte work that way. I'm also getting the bug to be able to make my own Roland CDs. Having your stuff on CD is more practical than having 1000 $10 Zip discs in your studio.

On the S760 mailing list (join at www.generalconcepts.com/sgroup), we've discussed this topic in depth. One program that looks good to do this is a program called "WinImage". I haven't used it yet. I'm about to get a SCSI card for my PC, or a Zip for my PC. When I get this, I will see if I could use WinImage to make a Roland CD.
