i see used keyboards for sale and don't know what the numbers mean...jv-90...xp-90...etc. is there a website that compares features of all these roland digital synths? you'd think roland would have such a site...

Strange name what? Have you checked out
"www.sonicstate.com" They have a section on synths. Click on roland and they have reviews of most of the boxes that Roland made. You will get specs and pix also. There is also a link on the bottom that takes you to a number of 'third party' pages. Roland has it's own site at "www.rolandus.com". I haven't looked around that site so I'm not to sure what is there. Hope this is what you are look for. Oh!, about the numbers, I think, for the most part, they are just to make the unit sound "pro". (This isn't true of course. I am just kiddin.) Roland makes a new synth every week and they use these numbers to keep things in order. The old "New and improved" trick. Actually some one should step in here and lay the straight scoop on you before I completely blow my creditability. The info about the sites is good stuff.
very strange name.....

Try www.rolandus.com for your information. They have a complete list of their current (last few years) products and many have detailed information and specifications in .pdf format available.
