First off, I am very proficient in computers , but cannot play a radio very well. My brother has a VS 880 mixing machine and is wanting to record CD copies of his music. I have suggested he purchase an external CDROM Recorder or rewritable drive. Excellent types of these can be purchased today for under $200, but this is in the data recording realm. He has said Roland has a CDROM RW for about $700. I cannot believe that the Roland one is $500 superior to the others ones on the market. I have checked many sites on the internet, but everything on the VS-880 is at least two years old. Can anyone give me soem information as to what requirements there are for the CD writer and if anyone has used something other than the Roland model. Thanks, Ralphy
