I just bought a used Roland RS-50 and I am trying to figure out "Performance Mode". The manual says you can play up to 16 "parts". I'm new to synthesizers so I'm not sure what this means. I would like to be able to play along with a drum track & maybe a bass track. The store salesman was unable to tell me whether the roland would allow me to do this. Also I am trying to figure out 'split' mode, i.e. how to set it up to play, frinstance, bass on the low keys & flute on the high keys.

I know you can do this kind of stuff on a cheap Yamaha, so I can't believe a Roland wouldn't have these functions. Even a cheap Roland that sold used for $299.
