once again many, many thanks to Mgomes & freddynl for their fast reply to my strange R8 problem !!!

That shows me that I really need to have user manuals for my two Roland machines the R8 and the CR80. Is there anybody out there who can tell me where I can get those ? I know that Roland offers to get copies from the manuals however they want to have 50,- DM for one and shipping is 15,- DM extra. Much money for paper only I think. Is there no possiblity to get them downloaded somewhere ?

Maybe drummachine.com might have 'em.
