Hello. I have a Roland Fantom FA. which I bought last fall. Since about a week it is giving me a problem: About 3 times out of 10, when I turn it on the Display will not come on at all. Even if I turn it off and on again it still won't come on. And the next time it's fine again. Even when the display doesn't come on the sounds still work.

Is this a known problem? Is it very expensive to fix?

Thanks.

Well it definately sounds like some sort of display problem if all the sounds and controls are working when the display fails start up. I'm just guessing but being a display problem and not some sort of system problem I'd think it shouldn't be too costly to have repaired. Isn't it under warranty anymore? You'll need to have it looked at by a Roland approved technician. If you don't already know of one you may have to get it repaired through a local Roland dealer.

And at least it is a repeatable problem which will make tracing it down easy.

If you are prepared to open the case yourself you could check that connections to the display are firmly plugged in. But if it is still under warranty then don't open it and risk voiding the warranty and just send it in to be looked at.
