Does anyone know if that odd disk format is still available from some obscure warehouse
in Saigon or something???
I don't know what was the use of roland with these disks but I use them to save sounds from an old akai S-612 sampler.I've been looking for some but its a real witchunt...i don't think there beeing manifactured anymore but i don't know for shure...im also looking for an e-mail adress to get in contact with Roland
i was just checking out their site but there's no email adress there so if anyone knows about the disk or an email that could out me in contact with the people at Roland that would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah all very well but that was $200 Australian for the pack! They used to go for $85 for a pack first hand.

This may not satisfy your needs but have you thought of using sysex to store your sounds with a computer? (although I'm sure if the akai can use this)

Puffy.

Try Melbourne Music Centre here in Australia. They list on the used gear page. They have used single disks, or boxes of 10 new disks available. They'll ship OS no problem.

I recently got a stash of second hand Roland quick discs to use with my Akai sampler, from a retailer over here in the UK. As yet I don't know how many I need but if I have some surplus I'm willing to sell you some. Let me know if you are interested.

You can use Smith Corona Data Disks in place of the Roland Quick Disks. They work fine in my MKS-100, aka "S-10 in a box". You should be able to buy them at office supply stores and they should be cheaper than the Roland ones.
