Hi,

I just picked up a used XD-9 with HD installed. I love everything that the keyboard has to offer. I spent a fair amount of time to understand the OS of this keyboard. I ran into some problem that I would like your help.

1. How do I call up the style from the hard drive to play (not internal build-in style)?
I tried the following method. Select Pattern – Select HD – Select Folder – Select Style by press Select – Press Load and it assign me a number in ROM. Where do I go from here? I could not call up the style. Am I missing something? This is the same problem for Midi or .Kar file too.

2. How do I assign the style from HD and group them into style section?

Thank you for help in advance.

coca,
the last step you mentioned should then have brought you to the page where it has two choices:
1)"clear all and Load"
2)"automatic"
Once here, you have to make a choice and then push "execute". I don't see from your steps you ever did this>
Clear all and load means exactly that. If there were patterns loaded already, they would be erased and your new choice or choices of several will start loading from #1.
If you choose "automatic" then the pattern you wish to load will start at the first available empty one and if you had more to load they would go into any empty locations.
Keep in mind that you can only load about 40 patterns at most into an XD9 unless the memory pattern expansion chip has been installed and in that case about 200 can be loaded.
The patterns are found by turning on the "pattern" light using the "patter" button and then selecting the first catagory of style buttons. If there are patterns, the name of the loaded pattern will come on and if empty, you will see only lines and no names.
I hope this helps

Thanks George. I think my keyboard has the memory expansion. I will give it a try base on your suggestion. I am a bit confuse how to assign the style into the pattern expansion memory slot (catagory of style buttons)?

there are no catagory sections when loading patterns. The patterns just go up numerically with 001 being in the first catagory. When you are not in style catagorys (factory styles) you are in the pattern mode. As they load into the internal memory, with or without the pattern expansion chip, they will be loaded in the same area that the factory styles load in. When you push a catagory button, you will see the patterns you loaded in. If you only loaded 3 patterns than just the first three locations within the first catagory button will be visible.

REMAP - found under PATTERN EDIT can be used to re-locate patterns to various groups. Remember that :-

- 001-010 will be assigned to F1-F10 of location "0"

- 011-020 will be assigned to F1-F10 of location "1" ...etc

Thanks,

AJ
