I've been reading through some of the old posts. hear pros and cons on both.
what is the best stand for my purpose?
I wanna have just a single tier, left side a music stand attachment and on the right a mic boom, in all the pics, i see them with attachments on the 2nd. tier. Tyros 2 will be used in this setup. Need the sheet music stand to rest the tablet pc on opting for the convertible laptop, will give me features of the music pad pro , and a nice boom coming off the right side.
Has anyone used attachments on the single tier with success?

If you have the attachments for it, such as the mic boom, they get in the way of folding it up. Also, the snapping mechanism is prone to coming "unsnapped" as you carry it. Probably none of this is that important, but it was awkward for me to use. I don't own one, but my friend HankB has two, and I borrowed one to try it out. You will probably get feedback from those who use them more. Seems we are the only two idiots awake this time of night! DonM
P.S. He might want to sell one if you are interested. He'll probably read this in the morning. He LOVES the stand btw.

Don, You said the stand doesn't fold up easy with the attachments on the 1st. Tier.
Don't the attachments come off pretty quickly when finished with the gig, Making the stand fold easy or is there permanant hardware that needs to be mounted if putting it on that first tier. I hope I'm not making it sound more confusing.
Donny, you mentioned the apex. I haven't seen any photos with a sheet music stand attached I've seen the mic boom coming off the top. Do they make a conductor stand attachment for it?

I'm on my 3rd Apex... love them. YOU can get the mic boom attachment for it and as far as a place for your laptop, you can always get a piece of plexiglas, or wood and make a shelf out of the top tier and place it there. I did that for one set up, where I used a piece of dark smoked plexiglas on a tier and it made a little shelf, I think for a tabletop unit of some kind.... been years..... mind tends to go..... and ... wait.... what was I saying......?

Yes,
I am still an Ultimate Dealer, I personally use the V-80 Stand when I play, I use the mic add-on adapter, which works great except you need to disconnect it to fold the stand up.
Probably the best thing about this stand is that you can use a gym bag, and get everything into it.
