I mainly use it for my DJ work. I am using this card with Virtual DJ ver. 5.0. I am very happy with the sound quality. I want to upgrade to M-audio Torq, in which it will cost me 6 times more in term of the price

I never try to record with this soundcard but I believe it can be done.
