Hi!

Can anyone pls advice why when I use DSP Effect no. 49 Lo-Fi 2, activated it and move the slider and there'll be a radio transmission disturbance without even playing a single note? All other DSP are perfectly OK

I've called Roland UK, and they said it might be software problem!? And they are now sending me a new software ver 1.06 to test. Although I did told them that using 1.03 to 1.05 didn't solved the problem.

When did 1.06 out I don't know, can't even find it on website. Hope someone can help me.
Thanx

Hi Eatsteel,

I saw your posting on Synth Zone and that you have a Roland G-1000. I also have a G-1000. I wish I could give you an answer on the question you asked, but I am not sure that I have hit on that part of it as of yet. I am curious what the updates that you received from Roland are for. How is it working for you. I love mine, however I hate the book. It is not user friendly at all.

Thanks,

Zierra

I have a new EM-2000. I just notice last night, when I hit the Active button for effect, a radio signal was being sent to my studio monitors. It sounded like a faint, intermittent beep. I'm not sure which effect was loaded (didn't have time to check). But as soon as I switched off the Active button it stopped. Is this similar to what you are experiencing?

Hi eatsteel!

I havenīt got a G-1000, but as far as I know, its sounds were taken from the SC-88Pro, which is the modul I use and which has got a Lo-Fi 2 effect.
On the SC-88Pro the first effect controller changes the Radio Detune parameter, which generates a radio disturbance on the specified channel(s). This noise is intentionally generated even if there is no other sound on the channel. To paraphrase the manual:
"If the R.Detune, W/P Level, Disc Nz Lev, or Hum Level settings are raised, there will be noise even when the input sound is silent"
I suppose itīs the same with the G-1000, so nothing to worry about!

Dear Zierra and all others,

I have download the ver1.06 from Germany website and everthing is still the same as before. Ver 1.06 exactly smae function as 1.05 no difference and I would expect they might fixed some software bugs. UK Roland have told me that the problem is normal. Then I have tested it with recording it into Midi and playback the song. (Effect turn off this time) Of course in the song it playback the effect of noises BUT after the Song stopped, the effect of radio problem still stuck there until only when you OFF the GM/GS mode. It's a bugs for sure, then I asked Roland UK to check with their model and YES same, so they contact Raland Italy, the designer (as G-1000 borned in Italy) and they never never get any reply for a month already which Roland UK quite frustrated as well. So, I would say YES it happened to every G-1000 and SC-88Pro..... Anyway, no big deal as long as I don't use that effect. But it's a >1% useless effect in the total of 89 DSP/EXF. Thanks everyone for helping.
