Hi...

When playing the Yamaha psr8000 through powered monitors, is there any way to turn off the board speakers so that only the monitors play?

Switch in "Functions" perhaps? If so, which one?

stick a 1/4 plug in the headphone input

The way I do it also allows you to save it, so every-time you turn on the keyboard the speakers are muted:

1.-Press Global and go to Audio Setup
2.-Touch Met/MP3/Speaker tab, then check speaker square.
3.-Touch Upper Right top corner ands Save Global Set up.

This way, you do not have to plug nothing into the headphone and I think is better for the keyboard and you too.

mdorantes.....guess I'll have to go with the 1/4 stereo plug. This board does not have the features you describe.

After taking this issue to a very knowlegable Psr8000 expert,
He says the the 1/4inch jack like you already said..i thought for sure the 8000 could just go to 'Function>utility>and shut them off there like my 9000, guess not though.

I think Manuel was referring to PA800, not PSR8000. The 8000 was WAY ahead of its time. I probably kept it the longest of any arranger I ever had. A lot of the things that debuted on it are still in use on the current models.
Actually I think the vocal harmonizer was better on it than it is now!

Me too...I had my PSR-8000 longer than any other model...only reason I changed was to have the four style variations on the newer models.
