hi !! i'm playing in a band and at the moment own two roland-keyboards: an xp-10 synthesizer(?) and an e-15 (arranger). i only use the old e-15 as a "masterkeyboard" to play sounds on the xp-10 because its sounds are much better. one thing i'd like to change in this setting is that the xp-10 has only 28 voices and no synthesizer-functions although it's called "synthesizer". i wanted to buy an xp-30 because of its over 1.400 sounds, its 64 voices and its real synthesizer-functions. - but it's not available any more in Austria. The alternatives i know are the jv-1010 and the rs-5, but i don't know if the jv is good for using it only in live-performance, and i don't know anything about the rs-sounds and synthesizer-functions. Can anyone give me some tips?
max (i hope anyone can read and understand my bad english ...

As an owner of an XP-30 let me chim in here. If you're looking to add some sounds I would recommend the JV1080 (2080?) or higher. The JV1010 will only allow one expansion at a time. The JV1080 (2080?) will permit up to 4 expansions. If it is sounds that you are wanting. Now I will advise you to be aware that the JV/XP series will it has 64 voices, those voices are quickly taken up with the amount of processing that is required for each note. I constantly find that I have to record the piano track off to my computer to free up memory, thus providing more background sounds. I've seen the RS series at the local stores, but now played with them. Since I've not really heard/read any earth shaking news from I don't think the sounds vary very much from the JV/XP line. I maybe wrong on this. Do I like my XP30? Yes, but in hind sight I probably should have just purchased a sound module, which would have been less expensive at the time. Just my thoughts.

their is a big Diffrence in sounds between the RS-5 and the XP-30 as I ownrS-5 NOW AND USED TO OWN THE xp-30.the Rs-5 sounds like the XV-5080 to me.the XP-30 sounds like the JV-2080.I know Roland doesn't change sounds that much but it's just hOW I feel.the XV-5080 sounds warmer than the JV-2080 and I thought the same for the RS-5 to the XP-30.
