I have downloaded several banks of patches to my D50. How can I load them into the D50? I have Mac and Logic.

Depends on how the downloaded files have been saved..

If the files are in Standard MIDI File format then you should be able to import them into Logic, and then it's just a case of ensuring that the D-50 is on the the correct MIDI channel (if the files have a read me file, it may tell you what channel, if not a goog place to start is channel 1).

On the D-50, press and hold DATA/TRANSFER, followed by (B.Load), the LCD display should then read;
* Data Transfer * [ Bulk Load.O ]
Are you sure ? . . . (Enter/Exit)

NB the O after Bulk Load indicates a One way dump - ie not handshake maode

When you press ENTER on the D-50 the dispaly will read:
* Data Transfer * [ Bulk Load.O ]
Waiting

All you have to do then is hit play on Logic, and if all is well, the D-50's display will change to:
* Data Transfer * [ Bulk Load.O ]
Loading . .

If you get stuck email me.

Thanks for your reply.
I know how to transfer the data from Logic to my D-50 once I have it in the program. The problem is that I can't import the patch data into Logic. If I choose 'Import' nothing comes up. If I drag the patch icons into Logic nothing happens either. I cannot tell from the looks of the downloaded patch data icons which format they're in. I have also tried to rename them by adding '.mid' to the end of the file name. What to do, what to do?
Thanks for helping me folks.

Sounds to me as if there .syx files (Pure System exclusive), or maybe even files to a decidated D-50 editing package.

I use emagic's SoundDiver program, it might be possible for me to port them over for you, as SoundDiver can export files as SMF's (.mid)
BTW I'm on a PC.

I have sounddiver too. I'll email you two seemingly different files and if you figure out how to do it please let me know.
Thanks a bunch!
