I know many of you use the small turbo-style fan, so do I. I find that the slowest speed is great and medium is about all I can handle. Is there a way to change the speeds so that I loose the fastest and gain one slower than the present slow? I know it's an electric motor and should be able to run at any speed, but how??

Can I change the switch to a variable, no-notch adjust? Is there a way to change/adjust current to the motor? Is there a magic switch adjustment?

go to Home depot and buy a fan speed adjustable switch and put it in-line between the fans switches & the ac plug....

I was thinking you meant something small and inline. The controls on the website are all more wall-type or rotary switches.

But, are you talking about putting a dimmer type control on the fan? That might work if I can find something small enough. I might have to disconnect the switch on the fan and run the AC thru some other type control switch like a dimmer or fader.

How about an in-line dimmer inline dimmer
or another 3-way control? control

Would either of thse slow the fan down without burning it up?

It will work. Keep in mind that you are working between the fan's onboard settings, therefore there should not be a problem. You could, however, encounter problems if working outside the fan's onboard settings, such as lower than low.

Cheers,

Gary

OK Gary, what do you mean now? Are you saying I could put an inline dimmer on the fan and still use the pot switch on the fan? If I set both switches to low, will that be too low for the fan motor, and maybe blow it up?

Cass,

Keep the fan switched to High. Then any settings you use should be OK.
