Hi, im also looking for the .ins for my discover 5. I have been searching the web but no help there.. I just cant get my head around how i can access all the good sound via my cakewalk. I only get the standard GM sounds and they are not the ones i want to use. My Tone&Drum Set List is jammed packed with sounds but i can get to them via my cakewalk. Damn annoying. Ive tried Bank and Patch settings but i never get to access the sounds i want. Please someone, make a -.ins file asap. Im dying over here

If you are only selecting the instrumentation,,,don't use Cakewalk...Use the DisCover 5.
It is better and easier to use the DisCover5 than Cakewalk.
This is the beauty of Roland's design..
The only reason to use Cakewalk is if you are sequencing...even then, I use a Roland keyboard[G1000].
The DisCover5 is based on the same sound maos as the VA series[7 and 76]..4 maps..map1 is SC55, map2 is G800, map3 is G1000, map4 is VA 7...

currently I am using the VA-7 patch list, which is getting me by.
I sequence and set midi file sounds on cakewalk, it is a pain if you are creating a sequence without the sounds you envisage. to find when you transfer the song to the unit it is not what you expected, or sounds totaly crummey.

there is a need for a cakewalk patch map, I agree sometimes cakewalk is not necessary, but say you are doing a guitar lick and you are doing a bend, it is nice to hear what it will sound like before you continue.
