I have a dilemma, after going through a bunch of Roland Products Sound Canvas, G-600, JV-1010, and JV-1080 I wanted to get a new Keyboard. I am choosing between the XP-30, and the EM2000. I understand this is like comparing apples with oranges because one machine is a sample playback/synth, and the other is a workstation/arranger. I am very familiar with the sounds on the XP, and am satisfied with them. I am very familiar with the sounds on the G-600-(Sound Canvas type sounds). I never heard the sounds on the EM2000, because there are no stores in my area that I can easily get to to hear it. My question is are the sounds on the EM2000 based on the Sound Canvas-(G-600), Super Sound Canvas soundset-like the G-800/1000, or the JV/XP soundset? There are subtle differences between the sounds of the Sound Canvas, and the JV/XP.

The answer is ......all three! The Em2000 has the original sc55 sound canvas set, the upgraded g800 set and the newly enhanced g1000/XP set. There is lots to shout about in the Em2000.
