This is a message I posted originally on the Grooveboxes board, but it seems like more people post 505-related stuff here...

Can anyone post the correct settings for both Cubase 3.7 and the MC-505 for synchronising them properly? Every so often the 505 decides to stop playing (when in slave mode) for a few bars, then starts again. Very disconcerting. At other times the time goes everywhere, leading to stopping and starting and blurting out of a whole series of notes at once. Following the instructions in the manual re: setting thru to ON seems to set up a vicious circle of midi info which freezes both Cubase and the 505.

Thanks

I thought the 505 WAS a Groovebox?

Have you tried e-mailing Roland or Steinberg?

After fiddling around a bit, it seems that the 505 only has synching issues when Cubase is playing a section in loop mode. It doesn't drop out or lose synchronisation when playing normally.

As for contacting Roland tech support... I'm bigoted against tech support people... they always take ages to reply and send general answers which often fail to take into account the specific information I've sent to them explaining what exactly seems to be the problem.
