Anyone using either of these boards. I'm thinking of picking one up and was wondering what each of you think. I understand the limitations of the sound editing and all of that I'm really interested to see how you use yours and what are your overall general opinions.

Hmm. I say don't, buy it. Buy a used old XP series Synth. Please. RS synths are like toys. You can't make a sound, you can only play with it. Too much limits.

RS synth are toys. You can't create a sound, only play with it. With the knobs. Buy Roland XP series, buy used. I would Recommend roland XV 2020 and a keyboard. Much better.

The RS-5/RS-9 is a "new version" of the old XP-10. If you just need to choose and play the sounds, These synths are perfect due to sound quality. But if you need to edit sounds, you can buy a XP-30/50/60/80 or Fantom Workstation
