I finally got a chance to visit SZ member R-W...My wife and i met Bob and his wife at their home...Super friendly..good people as Russ would say...

Bob is a die hard Yamaha guy with a super nice "music room" equipped with a C3 Hammond and assorted top of the line Yamaha gear..A Kurz and some Peavey stuff too..

I went to Bob's home to pick up a Yamaha DX7...The DX-7 is "mint"..I am very happy with the deal we made...My plan is to preserve this DX7..It has the Grey Matter Response E installed and has lots of goodies..all in pristine shape...including books , manuals etc..

Keyboard Magazine featured Bob in March's issue..."Weekend Warrior" page in the back of the mag...check him out...

Bob thanks again, and we will chat here at SZ..

BTW: see a Yamaha guy can get along with a Roland guy...

Of course they can, Fran... It's just important to show a little sympathy and understanding, have a little charity for their handicap, and not make them feel inadequate about their puny little 61 note keyboards

One of our own makes the pages of Keyboard Mag....and no one even comments....but if I knock one of Bob's Yamaha boards...this post would light up...

Come on people...check Bob's page out....after all, only a few of us..make the big columns..

Now if it was Chas in Keyboard mag...I might pass over it too..
Just kidding...

Hi guys,

Yes, what a pleasure it was to meet Fran and his lovely bride. Let's not forget, there still is a warm spot for Roland in my heart. I used the XP-80 for a few years in worship... very successfully.... The single layer performance mode is fantastic for layering on the fly. But when our band's leader left and they looked to me I needed the weighted 88s to which in came my S90. Then slowly after that.... the ES7.... and the XP-80 was sold.... I even attempted a Roland revival with a few other peices, XP-60, JV-1080, XV-3080, XV-2020, and JV-1010... but alas... all have been sold... BUT... I've not been too sucessful (or maybe I haven't given enough time yet) programming B3 organs into my SY77... Maybe there's a few B3 patches in the link Nigel just put up.... (thanks Nigel). Oh hey... if I strike out with this SY77... I will get a VK8M to plop over the SY's disk drive. Maybe I'll bolt it on

Well Fran, It will be my pleasure to catch one of your shows in the future... I'll keep a look out and you keep me posted if you're ever up in my neck of the woods up here.

Peace everyone.
