I am considering buying an XP80, but it occurred to me that isn't it about time Roland bought out a new high - end workstation? the '80 came out about the same time as the Trinity (though the JV1080 was even older), and of course the Trinity has now been replaced by the Triton.

Roland has obviously been busy with their groove range of products, but isn't it about time for a new model? XP100 anyone? Perhaps guts of a '2080 (3FX etc) plus more polyphony, with several exp. cards built in a'la XP30, & a bigger screen like the Korgs.

Has anyone heard any rumours I haven't?

Hi!

Haven't heared of such yet, but I just want to say I totally agree with you. Why on earth haven't Roland included, SCSI, internal harddrives/zip/jaz instead of that stupid floppy? And what is this tiny display good for. I used to have a XP50 which I exchanged for a XP60 with a big LCD, but it's still to small. Implement a TV or a monitor support like I have on my S-760 to view all settings as well as a score function to view the music like in Cubase etc. And of course, a larger polyphony, 8 exp. and last but not least, a larger USER bank (especially in the rythm section). Finally they should change their drums sounds. Look at the Triton/Trinity kits - exquisite sounds, not those daft LA drums which sounds too processed and clean. I wanted to write to Roland and tell them all this, but no site of theirs have such a e-mail to forward any comments or suggestions.

Just wanted to be heared!
