I thought the topic of this post was:
" Will you get rid of your T2 for a newT3 after reading this & why?....

Does every post here about Tyros3 have to include the negative posts from the same people? It's like listening to a broken record. I'll upgrade to Tyros3 because:

1. I expect the sound quality to be improved. This is the main reason I would upgrade.

2. I look forward to giving my Dad my Tyros2. He's inherited my last 3 keyboards every time I got a new one.

3. I've been saving for 2 years and finally can actually afford to buy the best. I am a blue coller working man and keyboards and vodka are my 2 main vices.

4. I'll buy Tyros3 just to pi** off the Yamaha haters club that resides here.

Thank you very much..............-charley

I still instinctively reach around to the back on my E-80 to switch it on and off (per ever other E-Series I've owned), before remembering that it is now located on the lower left of the front panel. DOH!

I think he was perfectly clear. The "rear panel" is the rear panel. Yes, that's where the cords go in and out. Yes, that's a great place for a powerswitch.

Funny. There are hardly any negative remarks about the Tyros 3 in this thread. The negative remarks are about manufacturers that put power-switches on the top-panel of a keyboard. That doesn't even include the Tyros 3.

You however, seem to look for ANYTHING that even remotely LOOKS like a negative remark, so you can start whining about it.

Grow up.

I'll want to demo one 1st and really look forward to reading other's comments from their experiences and opinions.

I was thrilled with the T2 after enjoying the T1, so I'm optimistic the T3 will be another jump forward...

Bitching about the power switch location..??? Seriously come on guys! Do you guys have any idea how COMMON it is to find the power switch on the back of a pro keyboard? All my pro synths (and even my budget synths) have the power switch on the rear of the unit.

We're not talking about some spot that's "insane" to have a power switch. Geeez, they put it in one of the most common places you find one on a keyboard. Now when they start putting it on the bottom of the keyboard.., then I can understand complaints.

All the real logical things that can be complained about such as Yamaha never giving new added features in OS updates, improving the sampler, improving the build quality, ect.., complaining about the power switch location is just silly. Like I said.., it's not like they've placed it in some illogical place that has never been done before.

Well i'm holding my ground on this one, thats just plain ol frigg'n insane the power on the rear!
Course i'm speaking for me only where i have major issues accessing my rear panel, room is always dark and need flashlight to see whats where. Also i got SO much stuff surrounding keyboard, if i bump something just wrong a avalanch of goods falling is the result.Heck, just finding the "Gain input for the mic on the rear is a pain in the rear!

BOO to swicthes for the home user for me(PSR9000)

This really is news to me that so many of you here are "pro" 'switch on the rear' !!!

Put it in a power strip you can easily get to, switch it on and off there...

All PRO keyboards that I know of have the power switch on the rear and use a high quality switch. It is the best place for it because the power plug (mains) come in there and the power suply is nearby, Typically when I have seen a power switch on the top panel (T2 of mine) I feel the power switch is not of the same quality as the one they use on the rear (because of lo0ks ??

When the switch is on the rear, once you know whee it is you can easly find it without looking at the back of the keyboard.
You just go there with your hand and...it's there. You do not have to look back there, actually see it to use it.
