Hi

I am planning to connect an XP-60 [complete with expansion cards] to a PC in order to do more powerful editing of my sequences (which are mainly classical music compositions).

But if I do so, will I no longer be able address the excellent sounds (i.e. patches) in the XP-60 ?

- Can the XP-60 be played accessing its patches by the PC ?

- If I download the to sequence onto the PC will it 'remember' which patches I orginally used when I load the sequence back up onto the XP-60 ?

- Do I need any special Roland software... ?

Help !

NO The PC is only talking MIDI data, the sounds still remain, and sound from the XP-60.
MIDI does not transmit audio information, it's just instructions sent by the XP-60 which the PC records.
The PC then just plays back those same instructions to the XP-60.

YES, it can even select the patches you wish to play using Program change messages.

Providing the software your using as no filters switched on. YES

- Do I need any special Roland software... ?

NO

Thanks, "NO".

Any idea if Cubase (5?) will run under NT4 (SP6)
using an AMD K6 233MHz processor ?
128MB RAM, 20GB Hard disk.

And even if I convert to Win98 (pah!) will the AMD processor work ?
