You gotta watch out for some of those small stores that give obviously false info about another keyboard maker. Some of these shops do this because they need to push the one and only keyboard brand they can afford to have in their store. Opening up a keyboard department in a store is just plain expensive... Some stores can only afford to carry ONE brand of keyboard.., so naturally they're going to tell whatever they can to push the one and only brand they can afford to sell.
I have no doubt that Roland (when they decide to release it) will bring out a new model that's going to give the T3 a run. Roland also does something else that puts them ahead of Yamaha. Look at the number of synths available from Roland, and look at the ONE and only synth Yamaha offers--as I'm not going to even include the Mini Mo and the MO series is just a severely stripped down version of the Motif ES. Roland gives you more options (Fantom, Juno-which there is now 3 Juno models to choose from, SH-201, V-Synth, VP-550). Now I will say Yamaha dominates in the number of options in the arranger market, but in Roland's defense..., they may have less arrangers on the market, BUT their lowest arranger has no less than 64 note poly, 16 trk seq, AND (drum roll.....) MIDI JACKS!
