After installing the Roland Serial Driver and the OEM Soundiver that came with my JV1010 I was unable to get it to see the module. The driver appears to be working fine as Cakewalk and Windows both have no problem talking to the 1010. I downloaded the latest update from emagic, no difference. I thought maybe it was because I was running Windows 2000, but I getthe same symptom on a W95 machine. I can actually see the MIDI Message light blink on the module when it scans, but it will not recognize it?

Skip,

If the JV1010 responds to CakeWalk, then your MIDI connection is working.
Make sure the module is in patch or performance mode when SoundDiver starts; in GM mode, SD does not recognize JV (or JV does not respond to SD).

Thanks, I'll verify that....I don't think that is the problem though. I got it working on a Win95 system just fine.....so I think it may be a Windows 2000 problem.

Try downloading and installing the latest update for the OEM version from the e-magic website - if you haven't already done that. I had the same problem on a Win 95 system, and the update did the trick immediately.

Good luck,

Magnus

Sorry about suggesting something which I now see you said in your original query that you had already done. Have you tried posting your question on http://www.egroups.com/group/sounddiver-users? It is a forum for SounDiver users?

All the best,
Magnus
