I'm recording via MIDI a PR-C 128 on a CUBASIS track. On the track info I chose MIDI XP-80 output and program nš 128. I want to record other track with a different sound, for instance 123 of the same PR-C. When I do that, the previous recorded track changes it sound! What can I do to chose diferent sounds from the XP-80 keeping the previous track sound unchangeble?
Please help-I dont want to record in audio track. Is there any form to play and record different sounds from the XP-80???

You have to be in performance mode, not patch mode. Any patch of the XP can be set to a part in a performance, excluding effects settings of course.

OK Daniela,
Hold on....we'll try and get you sorted!!
Right first things first,This is the way I do things so I'm not sure if they are technically correct but you should have no problems if you follow these steps.

We will deal with the XP80 first.

1. press Perform
2.press F1 which should be labelled common on the screen
3.turn key mode to 'single'
4.press 'MIDI' (F4) and if the part palette menu doesn't apear then press F6 'palette'
5.make sure that all the part numbers correspond with their equilvient channel number.
6.Now, hold down the perform button and press the sequencer button at the same time to get into the part sequencer mode.
7. Rather than changing the TRK no. change the 'part' number . each part should correspond to the equilvelant MIDI channel so you can change the voice of each 'part' as they are on seperate MIDI channels.
8. In cubasis just simply enter the channel number you require in the appropriate channel box and you should here the corresponding sound from the corresponding 'part' of the XP80.

There you go Daniela, that should do the trick.

Good luck chick!
