I know it's been discussed here before, but I've read different answers to this question:
Is the xp-30's sound quality exactly equal to the other memebers of the JV/XP family (also effects quality, not number of sounds/effects)?
Please I'd like actual owners or ppl who compared the devices side by side, to answer this one.
Thanx.

I'm curious of that too. here's something else: the xp-30 uses orchestral and session EXP waveforms for the GM bank in preset D. are there any other XP/JV synths that do that (is the XP-30 the only different gm bank in the jv/xp series)? Since other synth don't have pre-installed EXP boards I guess not...

Maybe someone else can give a technical answer to your question...but....I'm on a music-team at our church, and I use an XP-30, and one of the other guys uses the XP-80, and I would say that the sound quality is identical. He agrees, but wanted the built-in sequencer and other workstation features.

A hardware sequencer is like a software sequencer, a multitrack MIDI-recorder.

The advantage of a hardware sequencer is that you don't need a computer! I don't like using a computer while playing, besides I mostly do real-time recordings, so the sequencer in my XP-60 does the job for me!
