I haven't spoke with Chris for several months so I can't say whether or not Wersi Music USA still exists but my guess is that it does. Of course with times being so bad and many businesses closing, it is possible they decided to call it quits.

I don't believe they've had the showroom for quite some time now so that comes as no surprise to me that Fran found a new business at that address. It was my understanding Ralph was running the business out of his home office and Chris was doing service at another site.

I'm not sure where the current business address is but I do know the Wersi Music service address is listed on their website.

Wersi Music USA did and most likely still does exist although no longer at the same locale. I can't imagine Ralph or Chris not informing Wersi customers if they did go out of business.

Having been a Wersi owner for some time and having dealt with Ralph and Chris at Wersi Music USA for several years, I can say that I've never had anything but great service from them.

At one time I was interested in a Wersi...Ralph and Chris were very helpful, sent me manuals etc and always either answered the phone or called me back promptly...that was maybe...4 years ago...I heard they closed the store and moved to a warehouse type place due to costs.

They certainly should have updated the address...then you would not have gone to a hasbeen place...

One of the reasons I did not go with a Wersi was the folks in Germany's complete lacl of support for USA markets...I am convinved they could care less if anyone here buys one or not...so I won't.

If I lived in Germany or another country they care about I might have one right now.

Ralph and Chris were NOT the reason I did not pop for a Wersi...They were nice people and very knowledgable. But some things you need from Wersi Germany and good luck on getting them.

One other thing...I heard you had to BUY the manuals for OAS7 ( I believe it was 7)about $200. WHAT! Forget it!

I don't know now...matbe they have given up?

I do wish Ralph and Chris well, wherever they are! :-)

I received an English manual from Wersi Music USA when I did my OAS upgrade and it didn't cost me a cent. I believe the English Manual in Europe is slightly different though and I have heard of some dealers selling them.

The cost of the OAS 7 upgrade is dependent upon what version of software you are upgrading from and what your previous hardware setup was. The upgrade is both a hardware (newly programmed SG card) and software upgrade. It cost me around $500 to upgrade from OAS 6 to OAS 7 which was a bargain considering all the new sounds, effects, features, and improvements to the GUI.

Contrary to what many people believe upgrading your OAS instrument isn't ultra expensive and if you are technically savvy, the end user can do the upgrade on their own.

Oh come on, two hours, you make it sound as if Fran crawled backwards across the North Pole for this.

If I see an address in a phonebook of a store that I may be interested in visiting, I wouldn't even bother to call. I would assume they were still there and just drive up. I've done that actually, more than once.

If a company fails to answer a simple phone, or return a call if you leave a voice-mail, and fails twice to send you information as promised, their service sucks.
