I see a few Hammond XE models showing up as new and used but have not been able to locate one that I can try. Seems that it packs a lot of features.

Has anyone taken one of these keyboards for a test drive and if so, what did you think of it?

Did anyone check into these keyboards in the past and what did you discover?

Any opinions whould be appreciated.

XE? Is that the arranger one-keyboard model? I have never seen one except online pictures. Wouldn't it be nice to actually see one and try it?

Great for real Hammond keybed and drawbars, and they sound fantastic hooked up to a Leslie 2102, but they're hopelessly outclassed in the arranger department. Expensive too.

I played an XE-200 for a few years, lovely organ, but if it's an all-singing, all-dancing arranger instrument you want, look elsewhere. For example, the drawbars on the Roland E-80 are as good, if not betterm and you get all the bells-and-whistles too.

The XE concept won few friends and is getting very long in the tooth now. I heard Hammond Suzuki had discontinued them?
