Hey everyone I am a virgin to this forum but very happy to have found it. I am looking at purchasing an XV5050 but have heard some disconcerning reviews. Any one have experience with this unit, and if so what did you think. I am setting up my first midi workstation so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What type of engine problems?
The XV-5080 Engine is one of Roland's best, the Fantom and XV-5050 are based on this same engine.
I have a 5080 and I love it.

I am a proud owner of the 5050. very satisfied. Worth MUCH more than what you're paying for. Regardless of the price, a sound module won't get much better than this. Of course if you're looking for Sampling too, then the 5080 is the one, but it cost a good double.
