I have an ageing WK4. I would like some help with my trusty wk4, its been fine till the other day. When I power the wk4 up all i get is the General Music Logo. Ive lost the origional os disks for it. If anyone can please help me id be really greatful. Ive tried creating a boot disk with os on it but the keyboard isnt even reading it.
As you say, this is not a new keyboard. Maybe it's DD 720 disks used, and have to be formatted and copied into on Win98/2000 or early XP to work? Not a unknown problem on older Technics KN's. If the format diskette funktion works on WK, try that before copy files into it.

Have you tried the hard reset..
Switch keyboard on whilst turning the tempo dial round and follow on screen propmts.
Secondly do you have the original operating system disks supplied with the keyboard as you can try loading them then updating to the last version.
failing that if the disk drive is not reading it could be the microchip on the cpu board that controls the disk drive. these have been known to fail and are not a hard repait providing you have an engineer to do it.
i have a copy of the schematics on disk somewhere for wk4 and also the o.s discs however these can be downloaded from the gem media soft website.
Yes ive turned the wk4 on whilst turning the tempo dial and still get the generalmusic logo. The drive does click, i did try the util on musicsoft to format the disk. Is there any way you could send me the os disks as I miss my wk4. Its a bit battered but still workin. Do you know anything about the backlight failing on the wk4 display as well. Before i remember instaling the origional os and then the wk4 plus. Any help would be greatfully recievd.
