Hey gang,

If you want to get a real feel for the Korg PA800/PA2XPRO onboard styles, sounds, and how smooth the fills and variation changes work (yes we know they are working on a few isolated issues) just go here and listen.

Play all 40 of his demo's...they are pretty darn good.

He is not a manufacters hired killer demo guy, more just like one of us ( speaking of myself anyways).

It's pretty darn enjoyable and shows some of the styles/sounds of the Korg PA.

His youtube id is 'iswebster'

Nice stuff.

The scat voices sound a lot like the KN-7000...awesome. I wonder if some of the gurus went to work for Korg upon the collapse of Technics.

I'll need to check out all the videos... thanks for the links.

BTW...on You Tube, I suggest clicking "watch in high quality" for a slightly better sound and video

Larry,

The first thing i noticed when experimenting with the sounds on the Korg was that it just reminded me so much of my old Technics KN6500...

Even the styles are all very similar, simple, not overdone, very unplugged and not drowned in reverb...

That "soft jazz" style is my favorite Korg style converted to my G70..

So what do you think of the KORG sound compared to the new Tyros 3......IMO the Korg sounds more open & live sounding less compressed listen close.

Donny - i had the option of going for the T3 or the PA 800 and chose the PA 800 for its sound quality and functionality over the T3 as my prefernce.

i prefer to have the more granular customizable control over the keyboard and ability to make it more personal...

the drum kits are unbelievable. they are more satisfying to me that the kits i even had on the Motif XS...

the styles are more unplugged and realistic. i felt that the styles in the Yamaha are more song specific. its like they made some styles on the yamaha which were inteded only for 1 song if you get what I mean??

editing existing styles is also so much easier and less of a headache than the Yamaha in my opinion, i didnt even look at the manual and within minutes I was able to figure out how to create and edit styles very easily without any headaches...

i was always under the impression that Yamaha was the most easiest keyboard to use but now that i am getting use to the korg i am finding the Korg even more easier...

and whats even better is any day the keyboard is going to be greatly enhanced by the new OS 2.0!

Nick

Does anyone know what rhythm he is using for the "slow country" demo.
There does not seem to be a style of this name.....

Yes, quite a few did move over to Korg from Technics, others went to Yamaha.

Regards
