I am thinking about getting this board and put it on my JV1010. My concern is since JV 1010 have only one slot, is it possible to save some sounds in user bank, retain the sound in there, remove the board and insert another SR-JV80 board and load some sounds that I like. Then I will save the user settings to my cakewalk or PDC-100 (Hardware midifiler made by Brother similar to Yamaha's) using sysex. I wish Roland put this SR-JV80 collections in ROM card PCMCIA style.

Both yes and no. You can have one exp.board in the jv1010 and save some of the sounds in the user bank. But when you put another exp.board in the machine the patches using waveforms from the first exp. board wont work correct untill you put the first exp board in the machine again.

Isn't it lame? Do I need to keep the cover open so I can insert another board on the stage while playing? I wished Roland will introduce a separate device like an expansion box where you can put several expansion board on it. It should be the same size as jv1010 to make both unit fit in one space rack. It should be connected via midi or in the jv1010's one expansin slot.
