I am having trouble with my recently purchased JV1080. I need to know how to control cutoff and resonance via midi (ie what controller numbers and values do I use).

Thanks

In order to adjust the cutoff and resonance with MIDI controllers, you must configure the JV-1080's patch control settings. While this isn't as simple as just using pre-assigned controllers, it gives you the flexibility to customize your own...the way of the JV-1080.

Here's how to do it:
  1. Select the patch you want control over and go into patch editing mode.
  2. Select the [parameter] button so that it is lit up red and then press the [control (orange)] to edit the patch control settings.
  3. Press down 5 times until you get to the fifth page, CONTROL SOURCE.
  4. Edit the Control 2 and Control 3 parameters to which controller you want to use for Cutoff and Resonance. (SYS-CTRL1 and SYS-CTRL2 can be set to any controller from the SYSTEM | CONTROL ASSIGN1 page).
  5. Press down 2 more times to get to the seventh page, CONTROL2.
  6. Edit the two left most parameters to be CUT:+63 (cutoff:maximum sensitivity)
  7. Press down 1 more time to get to the eighth page, CONTROL3.
  8. Edit the two left most parameters to be RES:+63 (resonance:maximum sensitivity)

You can now use the two controllers you choose in the 4th step. If the controllers are too intense, you can go back and set the values to something less than +63. Using negative values, flips the response so that the default cutoff or resonance will decrease as the controller is increased.
