maybe I'm not doing this right, but when I push [RHYTHM], I can see and preview the drum kit I've selected, but playing my midi keyboard still gives me sounds from the [PATCH] and/or [PERFORM] kits.

thanks in advance.

In Perform, anything sent to Channel 10 will be played by a percussion kit, so set your keyboard to send through that channel. It's possible to assign drum kit patches to other channels through the 2080 as well, though, since I don't have a 2080, I don't know how that'd be accomplished - check your docs.

I have just purchased the JV1080 myself (today actually, I love it already!) and I found the necessary information on the first pages in the manual (*wink*). I use a Roland PC-200 MKII MIDI keyboard to control the module. When I wish to change the MIDI channel settings, I press MIDI/SELECT and then where it says 1 (MIDI CHANNELS). What kind of keyboard do you have? Anyway, you must check the keyboard manual if you dont know how to set the MIDI send channel (according to the JV1080 manual)
