When are Roland going to start support real musicians? It's not good enough - I bought the JV-1010 and then discovered it can't load any of my vast library of Akai and wave samples! Other manufacturuers can do this - why can't Roland? And even though I knew it had a LED display when I bought it, other models have graphical LCD displays, so when I went to bed last night, I fully expected there to be a shiny new LCD on the thing this morning. And guess what? They let me down again. I mean - how are you supposed to edit this thing? Read the manual? No way - I refuse to do that - it's up to Roland's to put a separate knob on the front for every function, and label them in at least six languages! Come to think of it, I got this neat Panasonic breadmaker the other day. Why can't Roland build this into their synths? I mean, us musos have to eat, or are Roland trying to starve us to death?
Ummm, respectfully; DID YOU DO ANY RESEARCH ON THIS MODULE BEFORE YOU BOUGHT IT?
It is clear (and Roland makes it clear) that you can't load samples into the JV1010. It's a synth, NOT a sampler. The size was reduced from the JV1080 and JV2080 to reduce cost. No where in any brochures or looking at in a store could one assume that the screen was graphic or could be editited.
You need to do more research in the future before you spend your money.
I had the same experience whith my XP-60. I was totally convinced that I should be able to check my e-mail with it, but IT WILL NOT WORK! Piece of crap! I also mean, Casio has integrated a GPS-reciever in a wrist-watch, so this should also be a demand on an expensive synth...
Well, you could buy one of those grey-market asseverating uxorial rescission expansion modules, but then where would you fit the slots for the built-in toaster?
And mine is only apparently waterproof to a depth of 300 meters. How am I supposed to work around THAT? It's an outrage!
Come to think of it, my breadmaker doesn't play music either! I'm ripped off here in a double whammy. Anyone care to start a petition to send to Panasonic?
I had a techie here custom-fitting my XP60 with a synth-to-mic function (by rewiring the "Solo" button in Perf. mode) that would emit waves to make my chick singer behave; he gave up, said it was impossible to make a chick singer behave.
So I suppose it's not realistic to get Roland to create a knob or button that will A) make my guitar player turn down and B) ensure that my bass player will show up on time.

I'm ashamed that the music business has such a connection to drugs. I'm a musician and totally denounce the use of drugs. I'm also 1/2 Italian and believe it or not - my family has NO criminal ties either!(sarcastic...........maybe, just a bit) Let's keep the "off color" side out of the future of the music biz, shall we? We need to teach the upcomming generation that the 60's is OVER. It wasn't all that great anyway, and anyone that includes drugs in their life is just plain stupid. Most of the acts at Woodstock were high as a kite and they sounded like CRAP. As monumental as that show was - it produced some of the worst recordings for the acts involved......and please don't get me started on the National Anthem by Hendrix.

hey Dave, do you actually believe everything that is written in this topic ??? I am not a professional (yet), I love art more than money, and I am not the least interested by drugs. As a matter of fact, I have never even been drunk.
