Hi all,

I recently bought a JV-2080 and need to use it very soon in a live setting with a sequencer. What I've been thinking I was going to do is set up a default multi performance, send appropriate program changes for each of the parts, and send sysex for fx settings (like which insert fx to use, which part to apply it to, which master reverb fx to use, parameters of all fx).

Does anyone use a JV-2080 in this manner. Is this the best way to go about it. I did not want to save all different performances as the set list is not pre-planned and I've got a repertoire of over 350 songs.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Fernando

Hi
I use my JV-2080 in a similar fashion with Cakewalk in my studio.
For every composition I write, I create almost all of the Performance and Part settings right on the JV-2080, then I use a Dump Request to sysex that PERFORM: TEMP +PATCH over to Cakewalk.
This bulk dump is then sent back to the JV once when I open the composition file.

Thanks David. Works great. Using the +PATCH option, it seems like you can edit the patch without having to save it in a User memory location. I'll have to play around with it a bit, but that's how it looks initally.

Thanks once again.

I have question, related to this post.

If I have saved performance data of XP-80 to an external sequencer (like Cakewalk) using SYSEX Bulk Dump feature. Can I play the sequencer with JV-2080 and expect it to receive the SYSEX data and set the performance as it was in XP-80?
