When downloading patches for the 1080, how do you transfer it to the 1080? The patches are either in .mid or .syx - format.
Any help appreciated

Open .mid file in you sequencer. There will be NO music in this "song", but WILL be some midi data, may be hidden somewere. Simply play this sequence into 1080. Make shure you read "now receiving..." on 1080's display.
Or else. Run you sequencer, go to sysex menu and load .syx file. Then click something like "send" or "transfer".
