Some of you may recall me sending out a message some time ago about patches on certain JV80 expansion sound boards being made up entirely using internal sound waves thus not requiring the expansion board at all.

Well imagine my surprise when I recently aquired the House Collection board and found 80 patches of this kind.

Part of the sales pitch from the place I bought it (mail order):

"yeah I own this board, aside from the loops the sounds are amazing Black Velvet, for example, to die for!" - Black Velvet is made up of internal soundwaves.

I returned it to the shop and now have the Session SR-JV80-09 that's much better in my opinion. Not before copying the patches though - Wehey.

The main thing is that the boards mostly have 8Mb of soundwaves and it seems as though the loops and phrases on this House board take up quite a bit of that 8Mb.

I don't mean to be slanderous to Roland. This board really is efficient at producing quick contempory dance grooves but that's not really what I'm looking for.
