My Ketron SD1 1 has a dead F1 push button. So of course, I can't save any changes to my registrations.Everything else is operating normally. Is it possible to remove the black plastic cover & spray clean it from the
top? Anybody have any ideas on this type of problem?
Thanks!
Gord

Or you could go to Ketron.it and email support. They have always answered me fairly promptly.

Hey!
I had the same problem with different buttons..all you have to do is to buy new switchies and carefully replace them.I did that even for buttons with a LED indicator. But you need someone skilled enough with soldering and DIY electronics, or a pacient TV reparator..if they are still existing in our times!

Depends on what kind(design) the switch is. If it's open contact...maybe. If it's a micro-switch or other closed switch desig....nope....needs to be replaced

I would check with Ketron Italy and/or AJ.

If you were near me I could fix it for ya.

The SD1 switches are 'closed' types and they need to be replaced.

I would NEVER use contact-cleaner in modern equipment.

+1

Also, never, ever clean open contacts with anything abrasive. Most contacts have a silver plating. Why most open contacts fail is lack of WIPE. Which makes them self cleaning.

Use a business card with a small amout of De-OXIT cleaner.

Thanks for your help. I was able to pull up the black cover over the F1 switch around an eighth of an inch-but realize to 'wipe' the contacts you have to remove the whole large control board-then you should be able remove the black plastic cover to get at the contacts (well-maybe). I'll contact Ketron to see what they suggest. I can now save my registrations-guess the slight movement of the switch cover -along with pushing the button down-while sort of 'rocking it' helped a bit.
Cheers!
